Local Mascots Invited to Join Bell Ringing Challenge

The Salvation Army Bell Ringing Mascot Challenge

When: Saturday, Dec. 23, from noon – 4 p.m.

Where: Red kettle locations in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro

Why: The Salvation Army red kettle donations are down by approximately 8 percent compared to last year. The purpose of the mascot challenge is to draw attention to the importance of giving to the red kettles on the last day of the 2017 bell ringing season. Mascots are invited to ring bells at any Omaha or Council Bluffs red kettle location. All donations stay local to support The Salvation Army Human Needs Fund.

Who: Mascots from across the metro have been invited to participate in the challenge. Leading the charge is RJ Kroc, The Salvation Army Kroc Center mascot. Mascots are encouraged to challenge one another to ring bells for four hours on the final day of the red kettle drive.

How: Mascots from businesses, schools and sports organizations who wish to join The Salvation Army Bell Ringing Mascot Challenge may call our volunteer department at 402-898-5936.
