The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services to Hold Volunteer Training




What: Volunteer training for those deployed to hurricane relief zones

When:
Monday, Sept. 18, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesday, Sept. 19, 8 a.m. to noon

Where: Gene Eppley Camp, 915 Allied Rd, Bellevue, NE 68123

The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services are holding volunteer training classes for those being deployed to hurricane relief zones.

The three classes are:

  • Disaster Food & Canteen Operations
  • Incident Command System
  • Emotional and Spiritual Care
New volunteers are expected to complete these six items:
  1. Create a profile at disaster.salvationarmyusa.org/volunteer/new/    
  2. Sign the releases
  3. Pass a background check
  4. Take the “Safe from Harm” beginning course
  5. Take the online "Intro to Emergency Disaster Services" course
  6. Email a passport-sized photo of yourself to ramona_arthur@usc.salvationarmy.org
