The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Sign-up Interviews to Take Place Nov. 2-4 in Omaha and Council Bluffs

Christmas assistance client interviews begin on Thursday, Nov. 2, and continue Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, in Omaha and Council Bluffs. These interviews help the Army identify the families who are in need of assistance this holiday season. Those in need are required to apply in person. 

Eligibility requirements:
  • Applicant must apply in person
  • Photo identification
  • Must meet Health & Human Services poverty guidelines (proof of income required)
  • Verification of address (dated within 30 days)
  • If applying for the Adopt A Family program, a current phone bill is required
  • In Council Bluffs, birth certificates for children 16 years and younger, proof of household members over the age of 16, and proof of address (utility bill or lease document) are required
  • Thursday, Nov. 2, noon – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. – noon
  • Omaha Kroc Center (2825 Y St)
  • Omaha North Corps (2424 Pratt)
  • Omaha Citadel Corps (3738 Cuming St)
  • Council Bluffs Corps (715 N 16 St)

The Salvation Army Christmas programs are supported by donations to the Tree of Lights Campaign which begins in Council Bluffs on Thursday, Nov. 9, and in Omaha on Friday, Nov. 10. The familiar red kettles will appear across the greater Omaha-Council Bluffs metro from Nov. 9 – Dec. 23.
