March 5 D.J.'s Hero Awards Scholarship Applications Due
Nominations are now open for the D.J.'s Hero Awards. Nebraska high school seniors who have overcome adversity are eligible for a $10,000 scholarship named for D.J. Sokol, son of David and Peggy Sokol. D.J. battled cancer until his death at age 18, showing courage in his struggle and concern for others and the community. Scholarship winners will be awarded at the D.J.'s Hero Awards Luncheon. Scholarship applications must be postmarked by March 5. Click here to download the the D.J.'s Hero Awards nomination form.
Criteria for the scholarship include: Nebraska residency, high school senior, commitment to helping others and the community, courage in the face of adversity, and the ability to overcome challenges.
